Noted wildlife artist Anne Corless has kindly supported the Cheetah Conservation Fund by making one of her paintings, The Lookout, available for auction at the Grand Champagne Ball to Save the Cheetah that took place at The Mansion at Albury Park - Guildford, on Saturday, on May 17th. 130 people attended and the event was a great success.

The 20” x 30” oil painting was sold at auction and raised a total of £350.

About Anne Corless

Anne Corless (www.tembographics.com) is an illustrator and fine artist. With a background in nursing and midwifery and having travelled extensively Anne went on to study medical and also scientific and natural history illustration. Her knowledge and understanding of anatomy enables her to produce realistic and dynamic artwork in a variety of media ranging from traditional watercolour and oil paints to highly complex computer graphics.

British born artist Anne describes her upbringing as ‘A life of travel’. Of her 11 years in Kenya Anne writes…”my experiences of seeing animals in their natural habitat, has given me a determination to help support animal conservation wherever possible. ‘The lookout’ is very special to me as I followed this cheetah and her cubs from early light for many hours.”

Anne also has a keen interest in using her skills in ‘health education and promotion’, and in producing ‘information graphics’; particularly in countries around the world where visual images are often more easily understood than the written word. In 2007 she was a guest speaker at the 4th Manchester International Clubfoot Conference Global Day and gave a presentation on ‘The role of medical art today.’
